Grothe played both QB and DB in HS and excelled at both.

What about RB?  When Matt is on the field we have 12 players, QB and RB rolled in one!

i was thinking about that too... just not sure how effective he would be as a between the tackles runner.  take away his ability to throw and slip out of the pocket and some of those escape-artist opportunities might not be there.

Have you guys never heard of Steve Young? Or Doug Flutie? Hes got 2 and a half years left as USF QB, lets wait til after that to decide if where and when he will play in the NFL.

jeff garcia, drew brees, and mark brunell aren't any taller than 6'1" and a lot of starters are only 6'2".  he could play qb in the NFL still, he has two years to develop his game and with his mobility height does become less of a factor.

Matt isn't even 6 feet.

he reminds me of Michael Robinson from Penn St a few years ago, we may be seeing Grothe moved to RB in the NFL. there's no doubt about his abilities to avoid tackles, it's insane.

They can all effectively throw the "out-route" or the sideline route. Matt's arm isnt strong enough do to that. He throws a beautiful long ball, kind of like Wuerful(sp?) did at UF.

Matt is a great college QB. As for the NFL that would be a rough go. Saftey would be the one position he may have a shot at with his size and speed. As for those that said hes too slow... not true.
