I would like to see the play that Cedric Hill scored on last week run in a little bit of space. That could be a huge gainer if he could make a safety or DB miss down the field. Maybe on a second or third and short.

I agree, I think we will run a lot and try to keep the ball away from them. If Ford fumbles one more time though, I might go ape poo in the sports bar. Can Ronde' Barber get his brother to go and talk to the Bulls RB's about how he changed his grip on the ball to cut down on fumbles?

I am expecting Taylor to have a big day. I think the line will open up some holes for him, and he is explosive when he gets in space (so is Williams for that matter). Ford makes his own holes. That one run where he kept churning his legs and powered forward for about 6 was special.

Our offense can be exciting, I hope they keep it going this week.

By the way, we should put up at least 30, we are averaging about 35/game (thanks to UCFs defense). Need to keep ourselves in the top 30 (scoring) in offense and get back to the top 10 in defense (scoring and yards).

That play is a short yardage play, and normally only run on the goal line.  Other teams use that play too, but its like a trick play where the defense leaves a player unguarded and an entire part of the field uncovered due to the Defense's Over Pursuit.  You'll never see that play 'in space' or used for more than 20 yards.

Our team (offense and defense) has improved a lot (a lot) since we last played Rutgers.  In 2006, we improved a lot from the beginning of the season to end of the season.  Look at where we are in the 2007 season.  Our defense will shut down the Rutgers offense.  However, I think our offense will start getting talked up more after Thursday night.  One of our three RBs will have an awesome game.  The passing game will be clicking on all cylinders.  However, I hope that one (hopefully two) of our RBs get a 100+ yard rushing game, and it is not our QB getting all of the rushing yards.

Everyone talks about our D, which is awesome.  I hope Friday morning they are talking about our offense and how complete our team is.

I loved the fact that we finally took a good number of shots down the field last week.   It was nice to see us put all the speed that we have at WR finally be used to stretch the field consistently so the D couldn't just sit on your routes all day.  I think we can put up some points on the Rutgers D and i feel we are much better up front this year than last (healthy clebert, t-mac is a legit run stuffer, selvie is a beast now) so they wont have as much success on offense.  I think we can hang 30 or more on them.

We took a good number of shots down field against WVU too, but they were covered (and or intercepted)and the ball was short.

This time, Grothe was right on the mark almost every time.

i recall one against fau that would have been a td...i think it was hester and he lost his balance and couldnt quite make  it to the pass.

lotta hype being pushed in this game..need to get focused and look real close..rice didn't get to 100yds in its losses against  natti and the turtles...most of media are making out as though the bulls defense isnt as good as ether of those teams..(not saying Rice isn't a great rb )..  remember that both of those losses came at rutgers home field agaist good but not fantastic Ds....I think the Bulls are better then average in that department and should hold rice down a bit especially if their passing game is hindered....

I just like Grothe always looking downfield. Even when apparently trapped he comes out with his eyes looking for the long ball. Sometimes like vs WVA he overthrows and others like UCF the receivers drop them. But at least he is looking for that one play that could make the difference. Sorta like Garcia.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
