Brohm, Lefeged, Alvarado Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors

The BIG EAST Conference has named Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm, Rutgers free safety Joe Lefeged and USF kicker Delbert Alvarado the winners of its weekly football honors following the games of Oct. 13.

Brohm, who was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, completed 28 of 38 passes for 350 yards and three touchdowns as Louisville won 28-24 at 15th-ranked Cincinnati to end the Bearcats’ nine-game winning streak. Brohm tied a BIG EAST single-season record with his sixth 300-yard game and was 13-for-16 for 151 yards and a touchdown in the second half.

Lefeged, who earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week accolades, registered six tackles, including two sacks and a forced fumble, to lead Rutgers to a 38-14 road win against Syracuse. He also was credited with a quarterback hurry on a fourth-quarter interception, giving him a hand in both Rutgers takeaways.

Alvarado, who was named BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week, made field goals of 33 and 34 yards and averaged 43.8 yards on six punts, pinning two inside the 15-yard line, in USF’s 64-12 win against Central Florida. He hit a long punt of 55 yards, marking his fifth straight game with a punt of at least 50 yards.

I'm almost positive Selvie's sack number will get bumped up. I counted at least 3 sacks if you count halves.
