BCS Show on Fox / Remaining SOS and the NC chances

At this point, we do not control our own destiny.  We need to win out and hope that LSU loses at least one more game.  Their remaing S.O.S is much better than ours.  If they win out they will likely leap over, especially since the people polls are not giving us enough credit already.  More reason to root for Auburn next week.

They might get UF again in a Championship Game too.  Not an easy task for LSU.

Think about it, we have a bunch of unranked teams remaining on the schdule (cinci barely hanging on).  Other one loss teams may have 4 or 5 more games against top 25 teams.  Big east teams are killing each other causing us to drop out of the top 25.  Wierd, SEC teams lose a game or two and stay in the top 25....  bias????

Does this SOS issue hurt us in getting a shot at the NC game even if we win all of our games?  I am intersted in some thoughts on this topic.. I could see us running the table and dropping down in the top 10 some where like Tulane back when Sean King was the QB (late 90's I think).

It'll take a bit more luck--i.e. a loss in front of us--for us to get into the NC game, even if we win out, IMO. that said, this season teams seem to be itching to dive out of the way for us, so hopefully that possibility isn't too far fetched.

sorry mechanicalbull, but what I see that EVERY top 5 team only plays one more ranked opponent.  I dont see where LSU's schedule is that much tougher than ours on a purely objective basis, especially when at this point its only speculation that BC or LSU will play in a championship game(although more than likely atleast LSU will).  Even if say LSU does have a better SOS, I dont see it being that much greater than ours to significantly knock us down.

1 loss and any title hopes are out the window.  a 1 loss Big east team would most likely be passed up by even a 2 loss SEC  team.

but if we stay undefeated it doesnt matter what teams we have played.

We just need to keep winning our games since that is the only thing in our control.  And let us cheer for those teams that will help our SOS and hurt other teams from taking our chance of an NC...
