CBS Sportsline has our Strength of Schedule to date: #9.

With Cincinatti losing to Louisville, it looks like we might not have another ranked opponent on our schedule!

In the long run this will greatly affect our chances in the BCS standing.. all we can do is win out.

Cincy only dropped to #23 in the coaches poll. The USF Cincy game might still be between ranked teams if both teams take care of business.

Cincy is still ranked and Louisville is starting to get votes now.  Louisville could possibly be ranked when we play them.

Rankings have nothing to do with SOS. It's entirely about records. The winner of the Louisville-Cincy game was irrelevant to our SOS, because either way our opponents gain one win and one loss.

For the most part, that is true with a conference game...

but you know the reason we are ranked ahead of BC in the AP poll is because we've actually played a tough schedule to get to our 6-0 record.  So rankings and SOS do go hand-in-hand.

What I meant was, playing a hypothetical 4-2 team ranked No. 10 vs. playing a hypothetical unranked 4-2 team would have the same effect on a team's strength of schedule. Cincinnati's ranking at the time of the USF game has no bearing on our SOS. It does, obviously, have some effect on the way the win is perceived in the human polls.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
