If we keep this up get ready for the onslaught of coaches, writers and the like to discount USF and the Big East and lobby for their team and conference.  See: UF 2006

3 First Place Votes ! Awesome !

Remind me again the impressive wins that Ohio St and Boston College had ?  ::)

Go BULLS !!!

Ditto ... at the very least we should be ahead of BC. The only thing they have "over" us is 1 extra game because we had our bye week early. One "extra win" over another non ranked opponent should not sway voters over a 6-0 team with two wins over quality top 25 opponents (not to mention the dominant win we just had yesterday).

While I agree... I'm happy.  Last year we were happy about getting "VOTES" in the polls... now I am just happy to say we are number 3 in the nation.  I'll take what we can get.  If we keep up the good work... no one can say anything about us.  Give no excuses!  GO BULLS!

3 Big East teams in the top 25 with Louisville and Rutgers still receiving some of the votes.  GO BULLS!!!  GO BIG BEAST!!!  I also find it absurd that we're 63 points away from BC, they won over NOTRE DAME, thats this years joke team!  1 win?  but whatever!!!  I can't wait for the AP

it doesn't matter.

we are within striking distance, all we have to do is keep winning and the rankings will work themselves out.

we played our toughest games early, while both OSU and BC have yet to play their toughest games.

Rutgers, Cincy and Louisville will be challenging, but we get 2 of them at home.

it's in our hands... we just gotta keep winning.

What the coaches poll means to the BCS:

Take the number of points each team gets and divide by the most possible points (1,500).

OSU = .997

BC = .922

USF = .880

Ok = .859

Bascially, it's the PCT of total possible points each team gets.

Computer poll places are assigned points from 25 to 1 (for 1st through 25th place), they drop the highest and lowest so the remaining four mean a maximum of 100 points.  So if USF has 3 1st places and 1 2nd place it would be a PCT of .990 -- 25+25+25+24 divided by 100.

You add that to the PCT of total possible points each team gets in the Harris poll, and computer polls PCT then divide by 3.

USF will be far ahead of BC and OSU in the Computer Polls, so USF should be #2 in the BCS... OSU might be hard to reach if they are just as dominant in the Harris poll.

Tommy Tuberville, Auburn

Howard Schnellenberger, Florida Atlantic

George O'Leary, Central Florida

Butch Davis, North Carolina

Rich Rodriguez, West Virginia

Steve Kragthorpe, Louisville

Randy Edsall, Connecticut

With all these coaches having votes I am a tad suprised and pissed off that BC is ahead of us. I hate the anonymity of the coaches poll. That is the #1 change needed to be made to the BCS system.

Computer polls will have USF at #1 or #2.... they favor us. Harris poll will have us close to BC if not higher.

I think we'll be #2 in the BCS. It's ours for the taking!

    With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
