After Saturday's shakedown of the top 10 in our favor, and a blow out of UCF behind us, the national pundits are making their cases for the top 5.  I thought I would make mine.

The only 3 teams in my opinion that have a real chance at #1-3 are Ohio State, BC and us.  While history and tradition may play a part in the voters minds, for me, it's what have you done for me lately.

What have Ohio State and BC done?

Ohio State has beaten:

Youngstown State

Akron

Washington

Minnesota

Northwestern

Purdue

Kent State

Only one ranked opponent, and only one more(Washington) quality win.

BC has beaten:

Wake Forest

NC State

Georgia Tech

Army

Umass

Bowling Green

Notre Dame

Only Georgia Tech was ranked, with Wake Forest being their only other quality win in my opinion.

When you compare that to our schedule, with wins at Auburn and here with West Virginia, I think its quite clear who has proven themselves.  Only the future will tell though, as the heart of our conference schedule comes up, and BC and Ohio State face some of their first tough opponents.

My Top 3

Ohio State and USF sharing 1st place votes.

BC clear #3

I think so too, but with some 1st place votes.  If Ohio State had actually played a tough schedule, they would have been mentioned in the national press earlier in the season.  Instead, they have quietly moved up in the rankings.
