Why is it that at the begining of the season that WVU and UL were honest to goodness contenders fo r the NC, but now some of the traditionalists (retards) on ESPN are saying the Big East is a lesser conference and it should be 1 loss teams frim the PAC 10 or SEC?

Screw them! Let's let USF keep on a rolling!

Because they expected WVU and Louisville to lose at least one, so they could knock them down.  In addition, they have a built in excuse because WVU had a weak OOC schedule.  We have beated a ranked SEC team so they don't have the same excuse over our heads.

Obviously they're biased towards the traditional powers such as USC, Ohio State, LSU, etc.  That's why they don't pick who is in the national championship game and the BCS was created for better or worse.

I've never understood why anyone DOESN'T like the computer polls.  They have verifiable, mathematical, formulas for ranking.  I think it comes from the general public's fear of technology in general, like they think the computers just pick the teams they "like" (exactly how the AP and Coaches' function).  If anything should be changed, the human polls should be written out of the BCS system entirely.  I'll never understand why anyone thinks the coaches' should have input on who goes to the NC, since letting them vote just screams to be abused by those coaches who want to further their cause.

Once Pitt and Syracuse get their act together then the BIG EAST will be one of the best conferences top to bottom. It must kill all the BIG EAST critics to see a new power in USF being on the national championship team. I dare them to find a 1 loss team and have them play the Bulls. In their mind, USF would embarrass their powerhouse teams.

If we want a true Coaches' Poll, then it should be ALL Division I-A/FBS coaches and not just the 60 or so they have now.

The coaches poll is always a joke.  You've got crap like Spurrier throwing Duke a vote every year as a thank you, guys voting for freinds (or against an enemy).  Besides active coaches will only see one or two games in a week.

That being said the best thing we did Saturday was win by the margin we did while BC won close at Notre Dame.  Everyone knows ND stinks on toast right now, no one probably saw ESPNU yesterday.  All they'll see is the score and a couple of Grothe highlights.

We are now fighting for style points.  Got to continue to win, win impressively (think margin), maximize our chances on the big stage.  Which, of course means this Thursday is (everyone say it together) THE BIGGEST GAME IN THE HISTORY OF USF FOOTBALL.

I don't think most people hate the computer polls, they hate the BCS and the human element.

I agree with your views on coach voting, and to add: it's silly to have the coaches voting.  Besides the abuse, coaches simply don't have the time to watch all the teams play...they are too busy preparing for/coaching their own game.  If you are going to have human element, let the people who actually watch the game vote

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
