My parents, brother, nd sister went to UF. I am very familiar with Gator fans.

Trip, I sorry you see my words as being an apologist. I just think too many people (especially lately) have overreacted to so much stuff. We're winning on the field who gives a #@$! what writers, other fans, or any other media thinks.

I think our team's play has done more than enough to back our feelings up.

If so columnist from Orlando wants to write an article like that welre obviously doing SOMETHING right.

No, I'm pretty sure UF fans laughed it off and let the result on the court speak for themselves. Because they aren't constantly trying to reassure themselves like so many of our fans are.

Don't be too sure about that. Joe is our resident UF/UCF apologist and is in top form on this thread...

I'm around them every day.  They are as insecure as anyone.  They ***** WAY more than the people on this board do.  Every time you turn around you hear about how they should still be ranked top 5 and the only reason they aren't is because of the tough nature of the SEC, how USF would finish 8th or 9th in the SEC, etc. etc.

Take one look at their boards.  Every time a football discussion breaks out, they freak out at the mere thought that we could play on the same field as them.  Then they bring up academics, commuter school, OCS, just about anything to take the focus off of the fact that we are actually a good team this year.  It is so much more desperate and pathetic than what people complain about our fans doing on this board.

Edit:  In response to Joe.  Perhaps your family are some of the more secure/sane fans?  They are definitely outnumbered.

I think it was a funny article.  I don't care much for him getting on the bull, but someone obviously let him.  Otherwise, it was a good tongue in cheek article in which he tacitly admits that USF is much better than UCF.

Whenever you see an article like this, imagine it was a tribune article about our next opponent.  Ask yourself if you would find it rude and offensive.  If not, then you are taking things too seriously.

Dont forget that UF pressed charges against the Sheriff because of the shoe pollish, so I dont think they laughed that prank off. They pretty much made the Sheriff sign some stuff that degraded USF all because they were pissed off that USF fans shoe pollished their campus.

Something tells me that Whitley's picture is making the rounds with the team and will be up on the bulletin board. If there was any chance of our players overlooking the Knights...it's now gone. Sounds alot like last year when the same paper wrote up some garbage about our program right before the game.

Hmm...just thinking out loud...but surely Mr. Whitley needed to obtain some sort of press pass/parking pass to come onto campus and have access to press conferences. If one were to send this picture with a written complaint of "misuse of University property" to the University police...what are the odds that he would get his press pass denied in the future? If it was an on campus student that pulled the same stunt and the picture got around...it would definitely be trouble.

Moreover, a complaint could definitely be made regarding lax University security..send it over to Judy Genshaft. Anyone up for another letter writing campaign?

USF admins know about this-- you can be sure of it. ANd they will act accordingly. For all we know, they knew about the whole thing and approved it as a fluff piece.
