Benjamin Williams:  Rushed for 186 yards and a school-record four touchdowns on 25 carries in a 35-23 win at Florida Atlantic.

Pat White:  12 of 15, for 148 yards, 1 TD; Rushing 14 carries, 89 yards, 1 TD

I guess you could argue it, but I don't see it...

Geez, even QB Grothe was 17 of 27, for 122 yards; Rushing 14 carries, 120 yards, 1 TD

I smell a rat...

But it's okay, I'm not trying to stir up anything...  >:D

Well, we have been winning about every Big East Player of the Week award on defense.  They do have to spread things around a bit.

FAU is a much better team than Syracuse.  White doesn't deserve this!

P.S. Have we ever had an offensive POW?

Pretty sad week for the Big East offensively if that's what they had to choose from.

Definitely would have to go with Williams.

The numbers by White and Grothe were pretty poor especially considering the level of competition they faced.

P.S. Have we ever had an offensive POW?

I think Grothe won it last year after the UCF game. Not sure, but I would guess that maybe Amarri after the '05 UL game, and possibly Andre Hall in '05.

UPDATE

Grothe actually won twice last year. (shared one of them). And in '05, I know we had at least 1.

Nov. 21, 2005

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The University of South Florida swept the BIG EAST Conference weekly football honors on Monday. USF running back Andre Hall was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week - marking the third consecutive week in which he has earned at least a share of the award. Defensive end Tim Jones was named Defensive Player of the Week. Bulls' wide receiver Jackie Chambers received Special Teams Player of the Week accolades.

In a 31-16 win over Cincinnati on Nov. 19, Hall registered 122 all-purpose yards and a touchdown to lead the Bulls' offense. He carried the ball 29 times for 100 yards and a score. It was his fifth 100-yard rushing game of the season. Hall is only the second player in BIG EAST history to garner at least a share of BIG EAST Player of the Week honors for three consecutive weeks (Glenn Foley, Boston College, 1993).

Jones earns Defensive Player of the Week accolades for the first time. He posted six tackles, including one tackle for loss, in the Bulls' 31-16 victory over Cincinnati. Jones also recorded one sack, one fumble recovery and one pass break-up. The USF defense held the Bearcats to just 89 yards on the ground.

This is Chambers' first BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week award. In USF's 31-16 win versus Cincinnati, he registered 150 all-purpose yards. Chambers returned five punts for 78 yards, including a long of 35, and finished the game with 94 total return yards. In addition, he caught three passes for 56 yards.
