Yards are down because rushing numbers are up for the running backs, and the defense is playing lights out. We aren't playing from behind like Kansas, Rutgers, McNeese, and FIU. Grothe hasn't been called on to do as much this year.

He is managing the games well.

We have 3 solid RBs this year (Williams, Taylor, Ford) to help take the load off Grothe, who also didnt play the 4th quarter (or most of the 4th) against UNC.  Also our defense is much more dominant this year.

Bottom line here's the real stat after 5 games:

LAST YEAR

      3-2

  This Year: 5-0

That is eye-opening for me.  I have been thinking that MG was not doing near as well as last year.

Yeah, me too...I don't know why, either.
