Totally agree to the image...especially offensive teams.  Offense is 'sexy' and most visable...and our offense has yet to show the consistency most top 10 teams display.  Even our defense was having serious issues against FAU's attack.

I feel fortunate where we're at in the polls...

Seriously.  When I heard we were #5 I was very surprised.  What you said about the defense against FAU is true and that is a good point.

Yeah well....  they're ahead of us in the HUMAN polls.  Some of the CPU poll have us at #2 and #3.  And they use CPUs for these Bowl games.

Let the media do their talkin, and let the CPUs choose the REAL winners.

GO BULLS!!!!

Yeah until they see the results and then put in the "USC script" to give them a bump.

Both teams have done very little to this point.  Its still way to early for the rankings to be considered accurate.  In about 3-4 weeks we will see if both BC and USF are legit top 5 teams.  Just keep winning and everything else will work itself out.

Honestly, I am not getting my hopes up until we beat Rutgers and Cinci, then I will still have the FAU game in the back of my mind.

not struggle against a team in the Sun Belt.

They struggled against a I-AA team... MUCH worse.  Ask Michigan about that.

They struggled against the #2 I-AA team in the nation... and an INTRA-CITY rival.  If FAU was "up" for the USF Game, imagine UMass playing in the same city as BC and how much that would mean...

Michigan lost to the defending national champions...

some of the better I-AA teams could beat a lot of I-A teams, and even some BCS teams.

USF has not looked GREAT on offense this year... our defense has won most of our games.  Teams that look ugly all year don't get the benefit of winning...

Image, when it comes to the polls, is a big part of where we are placed.

Local rival yes, but not intra-city; Amherst is about an hour and a half from Chestnut Hill.

That is my thinking too... but its tough to not be a little excited at this point.  We are 5-0 even without our offense playing well.  If we get our o going, we'd be unstoppable.  Will it happen?  I sure as hell hope so!!!

very simple: their offense is excellent, and their defense is good, and they have a Heisman candidate at QB. period.

I ahte to break it to you guys, but from what I'm seeing, this is our offense.  I don't think this year they are automatically one week going to "click" and start dominating opposing defenses.  The drops and turnovers have been way too consistent to be enigmas at this point and man I'm hoping I'm wrong.

I think #5 is seriously lucky and I actually thought we could've dropped with this performance.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
