I hate to say it, but ...

"Go Irish!"

ET, I haven't converted you have I??  My bro will be up in South Bend for this one.  Hopefully they will play BC tough this week and beat them.  Even if the Irish don't get them, someone will.  They have some tough games left.

Navy is now 4-2, after defeating Pitt. Where does Navy fit into our bowl picture? Do they still have that BS deal with the Car Care Bowl?

No. Navy has a deal this year with the Poinsettia Bowl.

Week 7 - UPDATED

1) USF's Game

SAT 10/13 - UCF (3-2, 1-1) at #5 USF (5-0, 1-0)

2) Games involving one or more schools on USF's 2006 schedule.

WED 10/10 - Navy 48  (4-2) at Pittsburgh 45  (2-4, 0-1)

SAT 10/13 - #32 Rutgers (3-2, 0-1) at Syracuse (1-5, 1-1) - 12:00pm [big East GOTW | Gameplan]

SAT 10/13 - #7 South Carolina (5-1, 3-1) at North Carolina (2-4, 1-2) - 3:30pm [ABC | Gameplan]

SAT 10/13 - Georgia Southern (4-1, 1-1) at Elon (3-2, 1-1) - 3:00pm

SAT 10/13 - #34 Connecticut (5-0, 1-0) at #33 Virginia (5-1, 3-0) - 3:30pm [ESPNU]

SAT 10/13 - Louisville (3-3, 0-1) at #15 Cincinnati (6-0, 1-0) - 7:00pm [ESPNU]

SAT 10/13 - #22 Auburn (4-2, 2-1) at Arkansas (3-2, 0-2) - 8:00pm [ESPN2]

IDLE: Florida Atlantic (3-3, 2-0), #8 West Virginia (5-1, 1-1)

3) Games involving Notre Dame because of its ties to Big East bowl games.

SAT 10/06 - #4 Boston College (6-0, 3-0) at Notre Dame (1-5)

NOTE: With the next two games for Notre Dame - vs Boston College, vs USC - chances are Notre Dame will not be bowl eligible.  Once Notre Dame is not eligible, we won't need to watch their games.

4) Games involving at least one team ranked higher than the 2nd highest Big East team.

If the highest and 2nd highest teams can move up and up the polls, then there is at least a chance that 2 Big East teams could make the 10 BCS slots.  Big East ranks: #5 USF, #8 West Virginia

SAT 10/13 - Kent State (3-3, 1-2) at #3 Ohio State (6-0, 3-0) - 12:00pm [big Ten Network]

SAT 10/13 - #11 Missouri (5-0, 1-0) at #6 Oklahoma (4-1, 1-1) - 6:30pm [FSN]

SAT 10/13 - #1 LSU (6-0, 2-0) at #17 Kentucky (5-1, 1-1) - 3:30pm [CBS]

SAT 10/13 - Oregon State (3-3, 1-2) at #2 California (5-0, 2-0) - 7:00pm [VS]

5) Games involving a Top 12 non-BCS team, or a Top 16 non-BCS team ranked higher than any BCS conference's highest ranked team.

If no teams from the non-BCS conferences make the BCS, then that would mean 4 at-large slots in the 5 BCS bowls.  This increases the chances for 2 Big East teams to be selected.

No Mid-Major Team is ranked in the Top 12 or ahead of the lowest BCS conference leader (#6 Oklahoma).  Highest ranked non-BCS team: #16 Hawaii

FRI 10/12 - #16 Hawaii (6-0, 3-0) at San Jose State (3-3, 2-0) - 8:00pm [ESPN]

6) Other games of interest, including teams ranked near USF.

USF is #5 in the AP poll.

THU 10/11 - Wake Forest (3-2, 2-1) at #21  Florida State (4-1, 0-1) - 7:30pm [ESPN]

SAT 10/13 - Georgia Tech (3-3, 1-3) at Miami, FL (4-2, 1-1) - 12:00pm [ESPN]

SAT 10/13 - #12 Virginia Tech (5-1, 2-0) at Duke (1-5, 0-3) - 12:0pm [Gameplan]

SAT 10/13 - Washington State (2-4, 0-3) at #9 Oregon (4-1, 1-1) - 3:30pm

SAT 10/13 - Arizona (2-4, 1-2) at #10 Southern California (4-1, 2-1) - 3:30pm [ABC | Gameplan]

SAT 10/13 - Washington (2-3, 0-1) at #14 Arizona State (6-0, 3-0) - 10:15pm [FSN]

Ranks used are AP rankings.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
