I am wondering about it myself.  In reality it shouldn't be a big deal but you know how the media loves to overdo things like that.

Especially when you're #6.

A non-issue.  I was watching the Saints last year and when one of their players got flagged for a really mindless late hit, Payton grabbed him by the facemask and cursed him out.  Typical heat of the moment reaction by a pissed off coach on a player who made a stupid mistake.

the fact that we have a post on here about it is laughable.

I only posted since ESPN kept replaying it.  Thought it might be seen as controversial.  I think it is a non issue too, but wasn't sure what others thought.

Football players aren't little wimps so I like to see coaches getting in their face.

The ole' head-to-helmet hitting was more of an issue than this.  Good luck hurting a guy in pads...on top of the fact that Leavitt never intended to hurt the player...just light a fire under him.  It's not like he facemasked him down into the ground and started swinging or something.

after watching it a few times--- my impression was that CJL was telling him not to get down over the play. The play was not blown dead when he started moving toward the guy for one. I think he was saying--- play smart, but keep playing hard. Had we fielded the ball and started running with it-- the block is totally legal and possibly something that springs our return man free for a big gain.

I cam to that conclusion based on how he got up under his chin and pulled him it tight-- yelling hard at first. Then mellowing out and hugging the player to show he is behind him 100%.

Coach Leavitt is an excellent motivator and understands that he has to have every player on his team both respect and want to play hard for him. When he stuck with Alvarado during the AUburn game-- it was genius even though most of us were ready to pull the trigger and go with a different kicker perhaps. But coach knew that he had to have Alvarado get his head into the game-- fix his troubles in THAT GAME--- because he will need that kicker later this season to win a close game. He needed to show the faith in him. It seems to hve paid off-- our field goal attempts have been considerably better since that game.

just another example of why we should pretty much trust in CJL. 100%. Just like his team.

Leavitt gets intense on the sideline. I remember when he got in the punters face during the Oklahoma game. He wanted to kick someone's azz for screwing up. You can tell that Leavitt has his heart and soul into USF football.
