I agree that it was a useful game from the wake up call perspective and giving credence to Leavitt's constant reminder that the team must focus on this weeks opponent.

But I also give credit to FAU. THey played well today. Yes--- most would say that we should have blown them out of the water based on other performances. But that FAU was determined and more talented than they have been given credit for by our fans. Their line did a great job of slowing down our pass rush and opening holes for their backs far too often. THeir defense also played pretty well against the pass. We won this game with our running attack. CJL does whatever works best depending on the team.

What we need to do is get back to avoiding turnovers, playing with intensity, and

We escaped!!!! I knew that game was not going to be easy because FAU was looking to make a name for themself. I can see the same thing with UCF next week in that the game is going to be their Superbowl. It is time to defend. USF has always been on offense, but now we are the hunted which shows that we need to defend our ranking. We passed the test against FAU. GO BULLS!!!!!

Totally agree with the...thank God for the win even though we stunk.

I will give credit to FAU playing at a very high level...but that's a game that should never have been that close.

Actually, this is a good point, and hopefully the players will react accordingly.  For evidence to support this discussion, I suggest that one only needs to look towards the #1 ranked team - LSU.  Last week, they played Tulane, and came out looking horrible.  They still won by 3 TDs, but they were obviously overlooking Tulane and thinking about the Gators.  Well, they corrected most of their issues, and beat the Gators last night.

We can learn from that, as so many other teams have in the past.
