The media has begun.....

Was it an ugly game today, yes.

Was it a win, yes.  If we had been a top 30 rather than a top 10, we would have moved up to top 25 this week as we are now 5 - 0.

But, after moving so far, and being hte media darling of last week, the win doesn't count...  Consider this..

Bay News 9 says "USF pulls away late from FAU"

Sports Illustrated SI.com says "Number 6 USF Survives Scare from FAU"

ESPN . Com says "No 6 So FLA Squeks by FAU"

TBO.com "bulls hang on"

CBS Sportsline says "No 6 Bulls survive tough test from FAU"

The media likes for the underdog to rise, then to come crashing down.

A win is a win... We are 5 - 0.  Nothing to apologize for....

i cant disagree with ANY of those headlines.  infact, i think they are all dead-on.

we didnt play well this week.  FAU played great.

gotta get better.

Huh?  Those are the exact same headlines that would have happened if USC won a close game with FAU.  And they are all accurate.

Would you prefer:  "USF destroys FAU"

I guess what I didn't post is that we are showing up on all of these web sites, even the national ones, when they don't have hadlines for many of the other games.  Go to the ESPN SI or CBS and we are on the column with top stories of the day.  Coaches and AP polls are influenced by teh headlines so this may impact us for tomorrows voting.  I guess I didn't make that aspect clear.

Woudl ahve been one thing if I had to hunt for the stories but they were there along with golf, tennis, and all of the top sports stories from today on those web sites main pages...

That was my point.  Three weeks ago we would not have made the main web site page....

and we won again....  probably one of only a few undefeated teams after week 5 or 6....
