Nicholas rooting for South Florida

Rookie linebacker Stephen Nicholas is proud of his South Florida Bulls,

who've cracked the top 10 in college football on the strength of impressive wins over Auburn and West Virginia.

"A lot of those guys are my buddies," Nicholas said. "I'm a former Bull, and I'm excited for them."

Nicholas is not surprised by the fine season South Florida is having.

"There is no question that they have quality talent," Nicholas said.

Nicholas got some praise last Sunday on the Falcons TV broadcast for a big hit on a Houston receiver near the goalline.
