Why do we need a golf course?!?!

The mall is owned by Glimcher Realty Trust in Chicago (I know that because I recently had business with them).

No way we're getting rid of the golf course.  You don't ever get a hunk of land like that again and it does adjoin protected wetlands.  However, with a small contribution to our county commissioners you could probably quick get the ok to pave the whole thing  >

Plus, I love that golf course.  It's not in what I'd call "excellent" shape, but it's nice and the parts against the swamp are beautiful.  I also favor any golf course that you're likely to find a 7+ foot gator on.

I don't want some LEGO set that UCF put up. In all honestly, I do NOT mind waiting 10 years. I want a strong fan base and a strong season ticket holders. I want an SEC-Like stadium. Very bowl shaped, very high, and very loud. I want it to be very intimidating and have a huge home field advantage. If that takes 10 years then I don't care.

Eco - where is the designated spot located?

the place holder is in the south sundome parking lot.  I don't think a decent sized stadium would fit.

Actually... it is the placeholder. The Board of Governors and the state want to see a preliminary location to start with funding of the project. there are two large parking garages scheduled to go up in that area already so it makes sense in the long run for us to use that area as the place holder. Things have changed from a year ago.
