The only way FAU scores 27 points is if it gets 21 points from kick returns/punt returns/int. returns/fumble returns for touchdowns AND forces a turnover in field goal range.  Otherwise, our defense will hold you to ONLY 3 points.  OUR DEFENSE IS FOCUSED - AS ARE THE DEFENSIVE COACHES!!!  Forget about being good or great.  Our defense has a chance to be historic.

Now I wouldn't go that far.  FAU has some weapons on offense.  I think they'll score more than 3 on us, maybe in the 10-17 range.

I will give the writer some credit because there were quite a few things USF did that seemed a bit High Schoolish...the mohawks for a game...maybe a bowl game if your a big program that's been there before, but most big programs would know that we still got 6 more conference games to hoe and to date that's proven to be troublesome.  The gator-aid dump for Leavitt by players, if you think WVU's comments about being the Yankee's are ignorant, which they are, then we shouldn't act like we just beat the 1926 Yankees in the World Series...it was one conference game.  Grothe goes down and we finish 5-7 and then Leavitt took a mighty embarrassing Gator-aid bath...

Third, begging the crowd to hop the walls, and allowing the players engage with the opposition through the media.

OK, we got it out of our system but if we continue on this path as a team if it's not FAU then someone will knock us off that perch.

FAU is capable, and they're a fast defense with some good talent on offense.  It's just hard when USF averages 4 sacks a game, and 12 TFL, and 10 QBH's a game.  Only three teams in the nation have similar stats and only one, LSU, has faced similar competition.   You've got to have players to exploit.  But FAU is coached by a true blue legend...those kids will be ready, and Schnelly will have trick plays like he always does....our offense is still green and I don't want FAU getting confident.  The last we need is to blink and see a 17-3 score on the board because we over-pursued on defense and they burned us and then fumbled on offense and threw an TD pick....so far our offense concerns me about coming from behind.

With that being said, outside of a complete meltdown that would justify some serious head scratching and crow eating, I just don't see how FAU has the beef on defense, and athleticism on offense to contend for four quarters.  I see a game that goes 20-10 at the half and then we pull away.  The key on offense for us is ball control, after losing Pinnick, and Counsel is really nicked up they lack anybody that can consistently pressure a QB, they've got good DB's and some solid safeties and a MLB...but overall a smallish defense.  Pound them on the run, don't over-pursue on defense....there defense has had 6 sacks all season in 5 games, 8 QBH, and something like 14 TFL...basically don't turn the ball over, control the clock and they'll have trouble managing our depth and speed.

Keep in mind big programs have come to Miami before to play these guys and Schnelly's given those teams fits.  Typically those teams pull away but it usually takes a while.  Minnesota's defense is 2nd last in 1-A so they're not a good example when quite a few 1-AA teams have better D's then UM...We're 19th ranked and that was after giving up a few yards to the 7th ranked offense.
