I would love  that but I think one of the knocks on Jenks is that hes not a great Zone guy but a BEAST man 2 man.

i wonder what Grothe would be at the next level. i'd put him at RB.

Awesome college QB but he wont be anything at the NFL level. If hes lucky he could play in canada for a few years, but i doubt it.

yeah he just doesnt have size for the NFL.  What about safety.  I thought i saw somewere he was recruited at Penn State by Joe Pa as a Saftey.  I could be wrong though.

I believe there is a rule that you can't leave for the draft before your Jr. year

You have to be out of high school 3 years.  You don't technically have to go to college at all, but it's rare to see anyone develop enough without it.  Although once in a while you hear about a guy like michael lewis.

As for Amarri, right now I can only imagine his value being in size, speed, and returning kicks.  Someone might take him late or as a FA even if he isn't a developed NFL talent.  WR's that are tall and can make huge plays are valued in the NFL.  Teams will take shots on tall fast guys.  Marques Colston anyone?  Amarri's got a ways to go though I think, but hell what do I know.  Maybe he'll start right away.  Stranger things have happened.

Don't count Grothe out yet. He has two more years to get a little bigger and stronger. Flutie made a career of it. How big is Jeff Garcia? Jay Fiedler was the last decent QB that the Dolphins had. QB's like Matt can have some success in the NFL. Staying healthy will be the big thing. He has 3x the arm of a Chad Pennington with much more mobility.

I don't think he will be drafted as a savior for any team, but he could work his way on a roster, and who knows.

Speaking of the NFL, anyone else hoping Travis Henry can't go this week so maybe Andre Hall can get some time? I wondered about the Bucs thinking about him since he kind of knows their system, and they need someone with Cadillac out. I think Denver is a great fit though. He needs to work his way in front of Young.

Curious if Clebert leaving could have an impact on Selvie's decision whether or not to stay... Clebert is sucking up a lot of blockers down there helping Selvie get to the QB... you have to think Selvie will suffer without big boy helping him out.  I'm sure he will be thinking about that when it comes draft time.

Selvie needs to stay.  He needs weight on that frame and he needs to learn that position.  He was a center 2 years ago.  With Aaron Harris and Terrel McClain in the middle Selvie will be ok.  He may get fewer sacks next season but he will become a better DE and not just an NFL project.

I like your example of Jeff Garcia comparing him to the skill sets of Grothe.  Last year I was saying no way to him playing QB at the NFL level...he has 2 1/2 years to get stronger and develop consistency.  He certainly has the moxy and the 'it' factor...

Time will tell...

As for Selvie...I think he will be gone after next year...he already looks like Simeon Rice running around creating havoc.  Add another 15-20 lbs and another solid year and he's bolting...I would.

And last...Mike Jenkins...I would also love to see the Bucs somehow land this guy.  Kelly is always hurt and Barber is aging...would be a great fit as he tackles as well as anyone in college football.  Monte Kiffin loves corners that tackle...you don't tackle...you're not a Buc.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
