I don't agree with running up the score unless you are going to pad it and get your starters out of the game.

The offense has a couple running backs who are growing with each game and Grothe has just had some mistakes lately with fumbles and interceptions.  Not to mention the occasional batches of dropped passes...  I have no doubt that they can move the ball just fine if they cut down on the mistakes.  I remember them moving the ball all over UNC so I hope they can get back to that if possible.

It's only been a few games so we'll see against FAU and UCF.  Hopefully they can tune everything up by the Rutgers Bowl.

I dont think we can afford the conservative approach when we get up by 2 scores or more at this point.  If we play a team close that we shouldnt we will most certainly suffer in the rankings because we aren't a household name.  When we got a chance to run it up a bit we need to take advantage of it.  Im all for playing a bit conservative against teams that are on our level but playing conservative Vs a team like FAU would only hurt us.  We got the killer instinct on defense now its time to develop it on offense starting with FAU.

Agreed on all counts. Well said.

My only thing is the rankings.  Do we care about the rankings at this point?  If we win our games it will work out for us.  If you ask me we got a huge gift in the rankings as it is.

This offense right now is like a car with no oil in the gears.  It looks like it should work, but you put it in gear and all it does it lurch forward a few feet then stop!

We need to figure this thing out and get it like a well oiled machine.  IF that means hanging 60 on someone to get the confidence of this offense up (which we'll need vs Louisville); then so be it.  Bc if the offense doesn't start clicking, we are going to be in for a rough 2-3 game stretch somewhere near the end of the season when these guys are just plain worn out.  This D can't keep it up for 12 games and we need an offense to make it easy in these weeks we aren't playing powerhouses so we can get guys like Selvie out of the game and get that second string some QUALITY reps.  The only way you do that is to BLOW people out.

It's how FSU, Miami and folks were so good during their runs bc the starters were only playing a half many weeks and the backups were getting a ton of playing time.

BLOW THEM OUT>

If we don't BLOW OUT teams like FAU, then everyone will call us being ranked in the top 10 a mistake when  others are BLOWING OUT whoever and everyone around us is doing the same.

The hardest part is JUSTIFYING our ranking.  Bc if we don't it makes THE WHOLE BIG EAST look like trash.

CJL won't run up the score, which will hurt our rankings.

We need to come out strong, and win by 30+

In regards to pouring on the points just to look better, one word:  karma.

UF kept throwing the ball versus Tennessee late in the game and you saw what happened to them against AU.

Rutgers kept Rice and Teel in games late just to blow teams out, and look what happened to them versus Maryland.

Karma people.

Go Bulls!!!

Thats dumb logic. Tennessee's defense is awful and Auburn's defense isn't, that's why UF lost. UF hadn't played a good team all year until Auburn.

The reason why Herban Meyer was running up the score because he knows the BCS is a bunch of computer rankings. You have to score points to get a better standing. Its the same reason that Oklahoma was still passing in the 4th qtr against Miami.

I say never let up with playcalling in a game, but definitely play the reserves in the 3rd or 4th quarter if you're up by 4 scores or more.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
