So, the AUFan in the Ray-Jay destruction rumor got me thinking about this.

We have literally had 4 "biggest game in the history of this program" over the last 2-3 years (UL'05, Bowl 1, WVU1, Bowl2, AU, WVU2).

In your opinion, what was actually the "biggest game in USF history?"

For me, it was Morgantown last year. We proved to the world and to ourselves that we could play with a top 10 team, and do it on the road. When we walked into Jordan-Hare, we knew we could win because we played in a hostile environment last year, and beat a better team. When we played WVU on Friday, we knew we could win because we beat them in their house last year and shut them down. To me, that game set the tone for where our program is today. That game was one that if you had asked me our chances before the game, I would have said slim to none if I were being honest. AU and WVU this year, I was fully confident that if we played well, we would win.

When everyone was saying it about AU, no offense to them, but I was thinking... OK, we beat an SEC team, but WVU was ranked 7th last year when we beat them on the road.

Just curious, what other people are thinking. I guess the first game ever in the Sombrero would be the most obvious answer, but that one aside.

If you want to go back and look at tone setters...

we played pretty well with a much less talented squad against #3 Oklahoma AGES ago.

I think that is the type of game that locks in the devotion from a guy like leavitt as he can see that it is certainly going to pay off.

I know, it wasn't a win... but it showed that one day, we would be right where we are today.

I would argue that FAU is the biggest game in our history.  Have we ever started 5-0?  No.  That's what I would use to motivate our players.

It can be argued that the WVU game Friday was the "biggest" win for the program in that it pushed our BCS ranking into the top 10.

Where 2007 is concerned, thus far, I think the win at Auburn was the morale booster that the team needed.  It also resulted in the current love fest we see for USF

As of today, Apis makes a good point, FAU is our biggest game coming up.  We need to win this one and the next, and the next, etc.

5 wins would be nice.

Let's hope the Owls don't stomp our chances.

Good call there.  I like that thinking.

I have to say the Auburn game personally, not because of their ranking but because of the hostile environment and the total battle.  I like WVU, but it is more impressive to beat Auburn at Auburn to me.

Friday's WVU game was like a celebration of sorts.  After the Auburn win, I knew we had a chance to beat WVU at home.

1998, 5-0 is our best start ever. 6-0 is not out of reach, but FAU first

i think that Arkansas game was the biggest, because that was the year i felt we could make a bowl game somehow. but uh, yeah, that didn't work out so well for us. then, the next week at Oklahoma, was the biggest.

by the way, a week after we're coming off arguably our biggest game in school history, it looks like we're going to play a team who is playing the biggest game in THEIR history.

being ranked #6 right now, the next game is the biggest.  we win and we have the chance to be ranked even higher.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
