I'm glad I don't live in Hillsborough county.  It would **** me off royally to be paying for a stadium and guaranteeing the Glazers a profit when they dictate what the community can do with the stadium they paid for.  I don't care much for professional football anyway, so let the Bucs leave.  We'll take over the freakin' stadium.  The community got hooked on that one.

Yessir!!  :thumbsup :thumbsup

I know that the glass was shattered at section 240/239 by the stairs...That probably didn't help today's meeting either.....

My season tickets are in section 240 and although I wasnt paying attention when the glass was broken because of it happened as Grothe was kneeling down, I believe I heard that it was a WVU fan that broke it as he was leaving.

And as far as 5000-10000 people doing damage. What's the difference to that then during the super bowl....this was USF's defining moment as a program and TSA and the Bucs should really let the **** go. I understand someone has to pay for it though, and I guarantee you its not coming out of their paychecks, its the residents of hillsborough county who pay the **** taxes on it. Swallow your pride and just relish in the fact that we're ranked #6.

Or look at it in the Bianchi manner, are program's a "renegade" program, the fans are just becoming one with the team lol.

Actually some pretty decent discussion here.  The one thing I don't see anyone talking about is the potential for lawsuits.  On another thread someone said that a friend of theirs may have broken her ankles when she was shoved over the edge before she was ready to jump.  That screams big time law suit.  Sounds like TSA wants to pass that Barry Cohen moment onto USF and USF wants no part of it.  That is what I think this whole matter is REALLY about.  Not just this incident but future ones too.

Just an outsiders point of view, so you can flame away as needed...

At some point, that small percentage of unruly fans (we all have them), are gonna have to learn something....

Act like you've been there, done that before.  One of these days, USF is going to cease to have "biggest game in school history" so often.

You guys are rocking the polls, destroying competition, and getting a lot of recognition.  If there is any year that you guys can have these huge games, it should be this year.  If you want USF to be the program you want it to be, certain fans need to know how to celebrate a huge win without shining a bad light on the program.

Like I said, outsiders view here... but it seems as though the program, 11 years old, has outgrown some of it's fans.

GO BULLS!

I saw some guy walking in the Parking lot with a very large piece of the field.

I saw this as well.  Literally the size of a football, dirt and all.

Econ Nerd made a good point - it wasn't just the field, it was some of the other rock-star behavior after the game, breaking seats, panes of glass, swinging off the pulleys that bring up the kicking net, etc.

Sheriff - here's the thing. If there was ever a game USF has played where the students SHOULD have rushed the field, it was WVU. But they're doing it, like, once a year now, for games that don't even mean that much. It's dumb to have threads on this board asking each other "should we rush the field after the game" like this requires a whole lot of advance planning. When you're there, you'll know when it feels right to rush.

It was the biggest win in school history.  It put us in national championship contention.  It was against a top 5 team.  It vaulted us into the top 10 in the polls.  That's certainly the time you rush the field.

The only other time we've attempted to rush the field was after blowing out UL in 2005, which I believe caused people to get tasered.  How do you figure we try to rush the field once a year?  When have we ever rushed the field when the game didn't mean anything?

I'm pretty sure we can put the "biggest win in school history" excuse for rushing the field to bed now.  I know it was my reason twice before.  Third times the charm.

Cincy in 2003

Yeah, that one was stupid.

The other one that I know about was Bowling Green in 2002. That one I fully supported, because that was the first win against a ranked school, it was senior night for Marquell/Rubin, etc that had done SO much to bring this team along in their four years, and it was just sort of a celebration of the first 6 years of USF football.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
