if the Bucs fans rushed the field--- which has never happened to my knowledge--- it wouldn't be the Bucs fault.

why would USF fans rushing the field be USF's fault?

total BS--- TSA/RJS staff have the job to secure the field and FAILED or did not bother to stop the majority of fans. If some people did damage the field-- review the tapes, figure out who it was and arrest them if you have to and deem it a "crime". Otherwise-- stfu. USF is not responsible for everything that goes bad during a game just the same as other venue renters like the Bucs (yes-- they are renters like us) or a concert or a church service or a car show.

How is it USF's administration's faul that our fans rushed the field? Wasn't that TSA's and TPD's job to stop them? Was Juddy supposed to tackle the students herself?

Exactly....they warned USF to not allow the kids to rush the field.  Like USF can do anything about that?

I know that the glass was shattered at section 240/239 by the stairs...That probably didn't help today's meeting either.....

I do recall seeing some guy running around with a seat on the field (doubt it was the only seat damaged that night), grass being torn up, I saw one guy (and i'm sure it was more than just him) using the FG net pully to swing pirate style to the field, and saw plenty of people jumping back into the stand which might tear up some other stuff.

How many people were on that field that shouldn't have been on that field? 5,000? 10,000? That many people can do some damage.

From reports from the field stormers, it was apparent that they weren't going to stop ones, for the most part, who left the goal posts alone. Someone made that decision ....

Econ Nerd made a good point - it wasn't just the field, it was some of the other rock-star behavior after the game, breaking seats, panes of glass, swinging off the pulleys that bring up the kicking net, etc.

Sheriff - here's the thing. If there was ever a game USF has played where the students SHOULD have rushed the field, it was WVU. But they're doing it, like, once a year now, for games that don't even mean that much. It's dumb to have threads on this board asking each other "should we rush the field after the game" like this requires a whole lot of advance planning. When you're there, you'll know when it feels right to rush.

I'm a big proponent of fans staying IN the stands. I know everyone wants to celebrate with the team and all but all that ends up happening is damage to the field, rumors that fans assaulted Coach Rodriguez (just rumors mind you), and now cops/TSA are going to be extra ******** come the UCF game. Great! And I wouldn't be surprised if some fans tried to rush the field after the UCF game. Pretty soon we're going to be Clemson where we rush the field after ever game.

I'm glad I don't live in Hillsborough county.  It would piss me off royally to be paying for a stadium and guaranteeing the Glazers a profit when they dictate what the community can do with the stadium they paid for.  I don't care much for professional football anyway, so let the Bucs leave.  We'll take over the freakin' stadium.  The community got hooked on that one.

Just to add a little more  fuel...TSA actually helped our friend onto the field from the student section.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
