Remember back at the beginning of this season and we talked about getting through September ... we're 4-0 and it doesn't matter how well we did it ... WE DID IT !

Most would agree that WVU & Auburn were/are the toughest teams we'd play, atleast the Top 3.

We're 1/3 through the regular season.

Great evaluation.  

There is a lot of room for improvement for the offense to work on this week.  The 'C' is right on for the receivers.   I know that at least twice the receivers started running prior to securing the ball.

If we are going to be a top ten team, our offense better get it together.

So many drops from the wide outs, they are up their with field goals for our biggest weakness.

Has anyone noticed how Amarri has been dropping passes and it looks like he is batting them down? Both instances that jump out he wasn't in traffic, so it looked like a technique issue. Is that how Canales is teaching them to catch?

Sorry , can't agree on your grades.  This team can do a lot better.  This is how I see it:

QB - B (throws off back foot too much and forcing too much)

RB - B (Blocking is shaky)

WR - D (Dropped passes, sloppy route running)

OL - B (Several breakdowns on pass protection)

DL - B (needs to stop the middle run better)

LB - A (needs to work on stopping short passing game but compensates by not allowing YACs)

DB - A (Good run support and deep ball coverage)

Punting - B (Delbert is an improvement)

Place Kicking - D (He has missed as many as he has made, thats below average)

KO/P coverage - C

You're right we did get through September unscathed, but this team still is not clicking offensively, we are leaving a lot of points on the field.  Improvement would make us truly awesome.

special teams is the only thing that really scares me right now.  grades asided, i am pleased (not satisfied or content quite yet) with the overall performance.

Our Defense is our best asset right now!

Our Offense needs to work a little harder on getting the points up there.

My biggest question mark with the offense is at WR.  Amarri can't keep dropping the ball!  He is 6' 5" for heaven's sake and could get the ball if were it was 4 feet over his head, but the balls he dropped were right at him. 

I love AJ, he is a great guy and is a team player, but needs to get some sticky stuff on his hands in order to keep on to the ball.

I think the biggest room for improvement is in taking care of the football. WVU's defense was pretty intent on forcing T.O.s and they were effective but I hope the coaches work hard on improving that. Also, some of the risky throws Matt is making need to stop. I would say he needs to also learn to get rid of the ball rather than taking a sack but I won't (yet) because how many times has he pulled off the impossible escape and turned it into a big gain or a touchdown? Amazing stuff.

I agree with your grades, Bulls.

But you know our guys, they improve as the season goes forward, especially the offense. And, actually, the offense isn't that bad. There's just been some really bad stuff happening at the wrong time. Mark my word, they will party on fried Gnats!

As for kicking, I think Dilbert will iron it out. He looks like a real competitor -it's just a mental thing right now.

In your wildest dreams, did you ever think we would be 4-0 with Auburn and West Virgina in our victory basket?
