I noticed that because of the immense crowd noise. WVA was using a lot of silent counts. Every snap the center would be looking back at the QB, then  the quarterback would lean forward and point to the ground. Next, the center would put his head up and snap the ball immediatly. The DL must have known that every time the center put his head up the ball was going to be snapped within a second or two. You'd think they woulda changed it up a bit.

That is a big reason why our  DL was so good... they were timing the snaps fairly well.

No, to be sure, this is the center's first year as a starter, and probably the first game he was having to use silent counts... part of the reason he had so many bad snaps.

I think that he (WVU Center) was rattled by our Defense. Our DL deserves a LOT of credit for controlling that game. They played great. We had a couple of mistakes (that offsides call was a lack of discipline ... or us being over zealous in our desire to get the QB ;-) but these are correctable. Enjoy the win, move on to FAU prep.

That WVU center is taking a lot of abuse from their fans. But that problem really lays at the feet of one Rich Rodriguez. If they're going to use a silent count, they need to change up the signals so that the other team can't jump the snap.

Geez, even the Yankees change their steal signals so no one can guess them.  ;D

I had their snap cadance down and I was sitting in the endzone. Hand down, one one thousand, two one thousand, snap. The last drive Moffit rushed up the middle 4, 5 plays in a row with perfect timing.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
