But he is the only one who writes poorly for them...  ;)

Guys, the Sentinel had a staff writer at the game Saturday. The Sun-Sentinel, its sister paper, had one as well. Bianchi isn't the only person who writes for the Sentinel.

The Times needs to come O town...    the St. Orlando Times...  Yea, I like it!  ;)

only thing that bothers me is his stadium rankings.  he has never been to our stadium how can he rank it?

The following is not intended to start an OCS thread....okay?  So just chill right now before you start reading this post.  It is relevant to the quoted post above.

Great.....thanks.

How can Bianchi tell Raymond James is lacking in gameday atmosphere for a college game??

To name a few things that someone in Nairobi can see on television:

1) Huge pirate ship

2) Red seats

3) Pewter seats

4) Bucs logos on the field

5) Bucs logos on stadium surfaces

Bianchi is right on his list of stadiums for COLLEGE atmosphere -- regardless of whether or not he's ever been there.

Believe me, he is not the only one that writes poorly for the Sentinel. I subscribed to the Times when I was at USF, I really miss that paper. Cancelled my Sentinel subscription after a year or so, couldn't take it any more.

I think the Sentinel is owned by the same company as either the Times or the Trib (could be wrong though), maybe they could use one of Greg or Brett's stories from time to time, that would be a nice change of pace.

Liked this here:

Kenny(Q) How many years do you think it will tak (if at all) before USF & UCF compete for a National Title? I put USF at 5 years and have no real opinion on UCF.

Mike_Bianchi(A) I think USF can compete for one this year if they run the table in their league and finish unbeaten. I don't think UCF will ever compete for a national title until they get into a BCS league. They can finish unbeaten in Conference USA and still not get a chance to play for the national title.

Unless Bianchi writes that he is retiring I really don't care what he writes.  This guy wrote some pretty unforgiveable (and mostly untrue) things about our amature athletes before last year's UCF game.  I really respect CJL for not going "Mike Gundy" on him, but if anyone ever deserved it Bianchi did.

I know all publicity is good publicity, and I really feel that way when guys like Dumig are talking, but I just have a hard time with Bianchi.

FYI: The Orlando Sentinel is owned by the Tribune Corp., as in the Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times.

The Tampa Tribune is owned by Media General, headquartered in Richmond.

The St. Pete Times is owned by the Poynter Institute, a journalism institute founded by former owner Nelson Poynter.

I am not a Bianchi expert but I believe his list included the three pro teams so I do not think it had anything to do with college atmosphere.  While some might bemoan the crowd noise level or response in the past, I feel that it is changing.  Last week, UNC started the 4th quarter with a third down play going toward the north (student section) endzone.  We felt like this was going to be an advantage for USF but it was even more so.  The players got the fans pumped and the crowd seemed louder than any I have ever been in.  As you might have guessed, UNC got an illegal procedure penalty.

Leavitt was pretty hot in the post-game press conference. He talked about that article for a couple minutes.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
