Student Tickets for Sale on Ebay

And I have a friend who buys UW-WI tix and resells them (especially bowl tix because students get priority) and makes a kiling

you can definitely make good money... for instance, if UT students won the lottery for UF tickets a few weeks back, they could buy 2 tickets for $50 per and they were selling for close to $400 per ticket.  That's **** good money for a college kid...

The only people to blame here is the athletic department for not setting up a better system to prevent this.  I think the whole companion ticket thing needs to go away.

I just messaged a friend who was looking for a companion ticket (former USF student), so hopefully he can jump on this since he wasn't able to get a companion ticket with the initial rush

Companion tix DEFINITELY need to go. If you think theyre what, $20/ea? Why not just sell the lower bowl student tix for $10 each? Thats $80,000 for the athletic dept alone!

I'd pay $10 for a student ticket.

I could have told you tickets were going to be ebayed....anyone who thought otherwise is naive.

Regarding the needing student ID at door, you do, but: 1) a student who missed out could buy them off ebay, or 2) some non-student, not knowing you needed a student ID at the door could buy them.

anyone who buys these tickets would have no problem getting into the game.

they just better hope they arent WVU fans because they would seriously be in for a fight at some point during the game if they were in the student section

I bought 4 companion tix with the sole purpose of selling 'em, scalping is legal and I need the money.

That being said, anyone need a ticket?

Scalping is illegal. You can't resell a ticket at the venue for more than you paid.

This happens at every big school.  Go to an away game once in a while and find out how easy tickets are to come by.  Its not always students either.  I just hope its not too many that are cashing in.  This will go down as one of the biggest games ever at USF.

House Comittee Bill 6003 (Ticket "Scalping") - Effective July 1, 2006

This bill prohibits the resale of tickets for more than $1 over the face value of the ticket.  Former section 817.36(2)(a) made the sale of tickets in excess of $1 above the retail admission price a second degree misdemeanor.  However, with the passage of this bill, the criminal penalty found in 817.36(2) has been deleted.
