USF will own this year's Big East Attendance Record

If we get 65500 fans at the game, we will easily have the largest crowd of any Big East school.  WVU has the next biggest stadium with exactly 60,000 seats.  Well Pitt has 65,050 seats, but forget about them actually filling them any time soon.

I don't know what the Big East record for one game attendance is but WVU, before they took some seats out to create luxury boxes, had just over 70,000 for the Miami game in 1993.  After that game, the fire marshal put a limit on standing room only numbers so we won't ever get to that number again until the university bowls the upper deck on the facility building side.

I'm sure VT had some pretty big crowds for WVU and Miami.  I think their stadium holds around 65,000 - 70,000.  Doesn't the Orange Bowl hold around 70,000 when full?  I don't know if Miami had any sold out Big East games there or not.

Just noticed you said this year's record.  Yeah, you're probably right about that.  No way Pitt is going to come close to that number this year without WVU or Notre Dame playing there.

Orange Bowl has had 80k for big games, but not sure within the Big East.
