When folks drive/fly 700 miles to see a football game, the least you could do is allow their team a chance to win.  >:(

Actually, this is not a post to complain about USF, this message board, or any of the posters.  Just my way of saying your guys were great in every phase of the game today....offense (running, passing catching) , defense (stopping the run, defending the pass, interceptions, blitzes), special teams.

I thought that the Heels would at least be able to put some points on the board and maybe, just maybe, our defense would show up and get some 3-and-outs.  Well, we have a long, long way to go to have a chance at competing at the Bulls level.  The Bulls, I think, will be the best team we face this year...at least I hope so.  Coach Davis is going to have to bring in probably 2-3 more recruiting qlasses to have a team with the top to bottom that your guys have.

I'm also impressed with your coach.  He's done a whale of a job, recruiting, putting together a coaching staff and putting together a gameplan.

Well, I'll not waste any more of your time.  I'm pulling for you to whip WVU's ass next week and then winning the Big East and going to a BCS bowl.  I know you've got a number of tough games remaining, but you guys are good enough to pull it off.

Good luck the rest of the year.

I was impressed with your fans.  You had a decent number make the trip and the handful I talked with seemed very knowledgeable.  I am sure you believe this as well, but I think Coach Davis will have UNC turned around in short order.  Thanks for coming.

;D It was fun - I, for one, hope we get UNC on the schedule again in the future. Best of luck to your team the rest of the season.

Thanks, guys.  Your board has been fun to shoot the breeze with.

I have decided to adopt the Bulls as my second team.

PS  Your AD had better sign Leavitt (SP?) to a long-term contract very soon.  Otherwise, every time a job comes open you're all going to end up in depression worrying about losing him.  Hopefully, he'll see that what he's got there really is the best of all worlds.

See ya.

He already did sign a long term contract, but im not sure how long. He wont leave anyways. Kansas St wanted him as the HC, and he turned them down ( he was defensive cord. there) and Alabama wanted him to, and turned them down as well. He isn't leaving Tampa, he grew up here and will retire here. He is the Bobby Bowden of USF.

It's nice to see cordial fans.  Davis has a long history of doing well...so UNC most likely will see its football team resurrected in time.  The ACC is pretty weak too at the moment, which means that may come sooner than later (no 1999 FSU or 2001 Miami to worry about now!).

The only recruits that are Davis recruits are freshmen...and freshmen following his transition year.  I wonder what UNC will look like in 2010 or so...and they have the money to keep him.  Maybe our teams will meet again in the orange bowl down the road...if we're both that fortunate.

I know we all say Leavitt won't leave, but if the bulls go to a bcs bowl, they are going to have to rip up his contract again and give him 1.5 to 2 mil a year.

Thanks!  I made the drive to Chapel Hill last year, and your fans were awesome!  I went to the Old Well, but I didn't drink out of it...

GO TAR HEELS!

Thanks Bill.

Butch deserves a lot more credit than I think he gets for turning Miami around in the 90s. He cleaned out the lawless atmosphere, recruited his butt off, and handed Larry Coker a national championship on a platter. You're already pulling in more talent than you had before, but they just need a little bit of experience. There were flashes during the game where you could see how good UNC is going to be in a year or two.

Speaking of Miami, if you could wipe them off the map when you play each other, that would be nice. Same with FSU. ;)

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
