I was very frustrated with the last 5-10 minutes of the game.

40K people down to about 10K down to about 5K in minutes. Was pathetic, and allowed UNC to score.

Looked awful. On national television no less.

Why are all of you surprised, this is the "standard" for Tampa bay "fans"

Buc games (win or lose)

Lightning games

Bulls games

They all leave early so they can "beat the traffic",

I always thought you bought a ticket to watch the game and support your team (win or lose).

I guess I'm just old fashioned.  Nowadays it's all about me.  Even during our games there are a bunch of people around us that spend more time talking, texting, getting beer, going to the restroom, then they spend watching the game and supporting their team.

I have been to sporting events all over the USA including Yankee stadium where I watched people leave early; especially when the game was safely in the bag.

But I know wherever you are form they did it different and it was better ;)

The Beef stud Victory Lap is almost as dumb as the wave...

Who watches the game when they are trying to get attention running a lap around the stadium, just like when people do the wave and everyone is to busy waiting for it to come back so they can stand up and giggle woohoo....

I am anti-wave and anti-victory lap.

I love the VICTORY LAP!  It certainly beats the alternative.

GO BULLS!

FINISH STRONG!

Well, it's just a tradition. The original crew and I did it back in 2002; Collin Sherwin (pretty much the mack daddy), who has worked in Athletics since before then, came over to us at one point and suggested we do it to try to rouse the crowd for a big finale. If I'm not mistaken, I think it was the Southern Miss game, where we won by a FG, and the crowd just didn't seem to be as into it as you would have thought they would be. So, the three or four of us ran around, screaming at everyone to get up and get loud for a big Bulls victory, slapping hands and cheering U-S-F. We also ran up and down the stairs of the alumni sections a few times. So, we decided to keep it, and ever since then, the Studs take a lap around the 3:00 mark to be back in the seats for the last minute or so of the game.

Collin, does that sound right to you? I think it was the USM game that you came over to us at.

I'm sorry for so being critical then, its a tradition which has been going on longer than I have been a student...

However, my views on the wave remain the same...

I HATE THE WAVE.  It's an insult to our team, people were doing it while our teams were on the field playing.  People doing the wave are usually giggling and watching it go around rather than watching the game.  I'm not sure why any fan would want to do the wave when there are only 6 times a year they get to see their team play at home.

Here's what I have to say to this thread......

::)

I don't know an awful lot about the Beef Studs, other than the fact that they look great on TV, in photos, and their volume MORE than makes up for the 20k or so who sit on their hands and take in the games like they are chess matches.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, STUDS!!

WE NEED YOU TO BE INSANE THIS FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!!  :gobulls :gobulls

Of course they weren't doing it to insult the team, they were obviously doing it for giggles and entertainment.  However, it is still an insult to the team, because apparently the team is not entertaining enough.  So then you have to find your own way to entertain yourself.

Try and start the wave at a Buccaneers game, you WILL get punched in the face.  Try and start it at an Auburn game, or a gators game, or a noles game, and you will look like a fool...When fans have pride in their team they don't waste their time with stupid crap like the wave.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
