Less than 4000 seats left for West Virginia?

Per Greg's blog:

USF officials are now expecting the program's first home sellout for next week's Friday night showdown with No. 5 West Virginia, and the last tickets could be gone by Sunday.

That's the day USF will stop selling season tickets and open the last remaining premium lower-level seats for single-game sales, as well as an aggressive "mini-plan" offering that will allow additional fans to purchase a package of tickets to three remaining games of their choice.

If you don't get season tickets now, best start saving for a donation to buy 2008 season tix soon after New Years.

THe lower bowl holds 42,500ish and that is full. So if the "number of fans expected is approaching 50K" and that is not including the 12K (8 lower 4 upper) for students that would mean they are expecting to sell 50K tickets between the lower and upper parts of RJ. Add to that the 12K we are at 62K as rought estimate for game.

Based on what the Oracle Blog says we would be about 3k short of a sellout. I'm sure with a win over UNC we can find another 3K for a Friday night. My guess is if at 3:30ish Saturday afternoon we can stop worring about the sell out one way or the other.

*** Extra bleachers were added to the south endzone and I think some in the north around the ship. I believe that is only a super bowl event, they don't even consider it for Buc's games.

1) The lower bowl holds 41,441 -- more than 1,000 less than your estimate.

2) The stadium holds 65,875.

50,000 + 12,000 leaves 3,875 tickets remaining... so "4000" is about right.

But you are right the extra bleachers in the endzones are only for Super Bowls.

Just a note for thought I just spoke with one of my clients who's a WV grad and he said they (WV) got 4000 tickets from USF and then asked for another 4K and got them too. He said he expects 9,000 MoundMeInTheRear Fans

i just bought 7 more tickets for the WVU game. section 314 which is on the west side across from the south endzone. the guy i talked to said there are only a couple thousand left!
