This thread is not meant to be a ground for mindless complaining. I want this to be a productive thread where we discuss problems, hopefully for someone to forward it to athletics to get things sorted out to make things to smoother. I know of a couple problems myself:

1) Having to wear the wristband all week - while I couldn't care less about it, some people have jobs where appearance matters.  Going a whole week with a bright green will not make their bosses happy.

2) Companion ticket wristbands - I'm not sure exactly how this works, so I'll put this down as a potential problem. I've heard some people say no wristbands are given with companion tickets, and I've heard that they DO give a wristband for a companion ticket. Those who know firsthand, please discuss this.

3) I have heard, but cannot personally confirm, that the ticket office scanners simply scan your ID to make sure it's valid. This means that the same person can get in line multiple times to get multiple tickets and wristbands.

4) This is the biggest potential problem and would be a huge oversight. What measures are in place to prevent students from using their green wristbands from the UNC game at the WVU game an other future games?  Alternating green and gold would solve the problem for the WVU, but what about future games? THe logical solution would be to have a different color band for every home game, but for some reason I'm not super confident that's the case.

Please add more problems or potential problems, and please try to keep this constructive.

2.) When I was there, they gave my friend an extra green wristband for his companion.

3.) They do scan your ID.

Good thing about the companion ticket; that's the way it should be. On that account, I don't know why they make the actual student put it on at that moment. Nothing is stopping them from cutting it off and taping it on later anyway. If that person loses or gives away their wristband, that's their own decision.

Yes, they scan your ID, but they don't check to make sure your ID has not had a ticket assigned to it yet.  For example, I could go today, have my ID scanned and get a ticket, and then go tomorrow, get my ID scanned again, and get another ticket. As I said originally, I don't know this first-hand, it's what I've been told.

If they scan it once doesn't it show that it's been scanned before?  If so then I don't think it'd be a problem if it does that.

That's what I want to get verified. While it may be hard to any of us to personally verify that, the list of problems and potential problems could be forwarded to someone in athletics or the ticket office, whom know the answer, or could find out at the very worst.

I believe the scanning does eliminate you from eligibility to be scanned again, just like the ticketing system they use for regular tickets at the games.  Ticket only scans once, and then you are done for that game.

I don't get the idea of using a wristband that is generic.  If you can order them on the internet, that can be a HUGE problem.

Yeah, this is a peculiar one.  For those of you who DO have a wristband, is there a date or UNC's name or anything on it to distinguish it from a random one?

A couple more potential problems have come to light in other threads:

1) "Counterfeit" wristbands.  Can someone verify for me if the wristbands have any kind of text or logo making them unique?  The wristbands appear to be identical or extremely close to wristbands you can purchase online.

2) On a similar note, selling wristbands/student tickets.  SInce we can now enter at any gate, are they still scanning USF ID's for people with wristbands?  If not, this leaves a perfect opportunity for people to  sell tickets and make some money off the WVU game.

I just called 1800GOBULLS and the guy I talked to said you DID NOT need a wristband with companion tickets.

Also, the wristbands are the standard one off the website, they dont have any marking on them.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
