I heard the interview in its entirety.  I also listen to Fisher & Boy every morning.  I love them.

That being said, they are both bandwagon fans and they have made fun of our team numerous times in the past.  Fisher seems to be a little bit better than in the past, but Boy could care less for anyone other than Florida.  At the games, all Fisher is doing is guzzling down "delicious Miller Lites" at the Party Deck, and they both pay little to no attention to the game.

All of the above being said, I am glad they are fans, even though they insult us in one year and love us the next.  I love any attention that we can get.  I will also continue to listen to them...they are great radio guys.  I am not a flaming homosexual, so that rules out listening to MGAY in the Morning.

P.S. They also interviewed CJL last year before the Bowl Game...this one was way better though.

I thought the interview was great. I was actually pleasantly surprised that both Fischer and Boy took it seriously.

For those of you who missed it, here is a summary:

How is Grothe? Better. Glad we could get Gregory and Severino reps last week while he was out.

What do you expect from Elon? Tough game. Got to stay focused. Go out there and play or we could lose like Colorado has twice to a I-AA.

If USF starts out hot and goes 4-0, do you think you will be Top 25, and what do rankings mean to you? CJL scoffed and said that if we start out 4-0 he thinks we will be Top 10, not just Top 25. Said that he just trys to keep the players focused and not worried about rankings.

How do you sell USF to recruits to try and lure them away from FSU, UF, UM? Opportunity. The opportunity to play within a year or two and not be buried on the depth chart. Also, the hance to help build something special at USF. USF is a really easy sell he said (great univiersity, great location).

How do you gameplan? We gameplan all spring and summer for every game. Then, the week before the game, we focus on the team we are playing and hope that all the work we did in the spring and summer pays off.

With your team being so good this year, do you think you could beat the Bucs? I think the Bucs are going to be tough this year. They have been working really hard and its the NFL, so you never know whats going to happen. (He did not say that we couldn't beat them!  )

Are your goals for this season to make it to a bowl game? My goal is to finish this interview, make it to the 12 pm press conference, and then have a good practice this afternoon. Those are my goals.  (This question came after Fischer and Boy were talking about the Papa John's Bowl and how they went and had a good time, but would prefer never to play ECU again, as their fans tried to pick 6 fights on the way out of the game.)

i think our marketing dollars have a little more to do with their change of opinion rather then just an honest change of heart.

That goes to show how little they know about USF footbal. If we go 4-0 that means that we have beaten a top 25 SEC powerhouse, an ACC team, and a top 10 national title contender. If we go 2-0 we are in the top 25. If we go 4-0 we are in the top 10 easy.

I think they were just spelling it out for the layperson fan out there in Tampa Bay, rather than this being an indication of how little they know of USF football. Regardless, this is great pub, even if it may be motivated by USF's marketing dollars at work.
