FOOTBALL

Last Week: The USF football team wrapped up camp on Saturday and celebrated with the Bulls Fan Fest at Raymond James Stadium ... A record crowd of 2,000-plus turned out for the event that was hosted at Ray Jay for the first time.

This Week:  USF kicks off the regular season against Elon on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 7:05 p.m. ... The game is being broadcast locally by Catch 47 ... ESPN Regional is producing the game and will make it available on the GamePlan package (emphasis added) ... The Bulls wall also host their first weekly media luncheon at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28.

Tickets: USF has sold over 19,000 season tickets for the 2007 season ... Season and single game tickets are still available by calling 1-800-GoBulls.

MEN'S SOCCER

Last Week: USF concluded its exhibition season with one home match and one away trip ... The home match saw the team defeat the No. 19 ranked Billikens of Saint Louis, 2-0 ... Goals by Jason Devenish and Tony Taylor gave the team all the offensive support it would need ... The away match pitted the team against the No. 5 Virginia Cavaliers in Charlottesville, Va ... A first half goal by UVA proved to be the only score of the game as the Cavs took the contest 1-0.

This Week:  USF’s regular season opener is Friday, Aug. 31, when the Bulls face UCF at home ... Match time is set for 7:30 p.m. ... The team then heads to DeLand for a 7 p.m. meeting with Stetson on Sunday, Sept. 2.

Tickets: USF season tickets can be purchased by calling 1-800-GoBulls ... Admission to the Stetson Soccer Complex is $5 for adults and $4 for seniors and students.

Notes: USF is 18-3-4 in regular season play against UCF, winning the last meeting 3-1 on Oct. 8, 2002 ... The Bulls are 22-4-1 vs. Stetson, taking the last contest 3-1 at home on Oct. 12, 2006.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Last Week: The Bulls wrapped up their exhibition season with two games in Orlando, picking up a 1-1 tie with Northern Illinois (8/21) and a 3-0 shut out over UCF (8/25) ... Sophomore midfielder Kaneile Thomas led the team with five points in preseason, followed by four from junior forward Lindsay Brauer, who scored the Bull’s first goal of the exhibition season.

This Week:  USF’s regular season opener is Friday, Aug. 31, when the Bulls face the Stetson Hatters at 4 p.m. in DeLand ... The Bulls then head to Oxford, Miss., to play Ole Miss Sunday, Sept. 2 at 1:30 p.m

VOLLEYBALL

Last Week: The USF volleyball team had a scrimmage on Saturday to prepare for its opener on the road Sept. 1 ... All seven newcomers saw significant playing time in the scrimmage and coach Claire Lessinger was pleased with the team’s performance and the options she will have on the court this year with a roster of players.

This Week:  The Bulls will open the 2007 campaign at the Western New York Invitational Sept. 1-2 ... USF will face Buffalo and Niagara on Sept. 1 and will conclude the tournament facing Fordham on Sunday.
