The quarterback: Matt Grothe started every game as a true freshman, leading the Big East in total yardage by passing for 2,576 and running for 622. He also produced 24 touchdowns and has shown a knack for late-game comebacks in high school and college.

The story: The Bulls are a trendy sleeper pick both in the league and nationally by virtue of their 19 returning starters and an athletic defense. But they've suffered a rash of injuries in the preseason and haven't been very consistent in their short football history.
