Why don't they redshirt him?  We've got way too much depth at RB now...

because if he gets the waiver, he has a good chance of contributing right away.

There is no such thing as too much depth, especially since it is all unproven.

Wow.  We have some solid RBs... I hope they can each get enough touches that we don't have problems... but imagine having Ford and Taylor for the next four seasons.  Thunder AND lightning.

Taylor can play right away

Freshman running back Jamar Taylor has been granted a hardship waiver by the NCAA that will allow him to play this season. Taylor, who transferred after one semester at Alabama, will see immediate action and compete for carries in a deep backfield. "We're awfully excited about that,'' coach Jim Leavitt said. Check back for more later.
