FAN FEST WAS AWESOME!!

Fan Fest was indeed awesome!  I was very happily surprised at the turn out.  The only negative, and it has nothing to do with USF, the team or management, was the heat.  I know that if not for some very good samaritans (and you know who you are), I probably would have been carted away with heat exhaustion.

I was sceptical at first about having it at Ray Jay, but it brought fans out that probably would not have attended, especially if they had to travel from across the Bay.

A new "tradition" appears to be aborning!

..It was great that there were so many of the players signing and others were very approachable as they were walking around. My wife commented how nice they all were (Jim is training them well).

I think you can actually say that "Jim is recruiting them well". Great group of guys.

This event was basicly thrown together in a couples weeks with the demand os season tix ... sure it will be much better in 2008.

Coolest tatoo ever!

Saw this tattoo also. Zach definitely will not be transfering or changing numbers. The future is bright. The freshmen I saw all have good size, and surprising body definition for their age. All of the players were happy to see the fans come out. I heard a ton of  thank you's from the players. I too was skeptical about the move to RJS. However, it was another good move by the athletic department. At the old FAD's the players were exhausted from practice, and there was no organized way to meet with them, they were generally surrounded by family and friends. Most would leave shortly after the event started to go get showers after a tough practice. The event today was a good move in the right direction. The athletics department will review today's events, make changes, and it will be even better next year. I for one can't wait. We are now ready for some football. Go Bulls!!

ET, saw you driving on the way home today.  I would have liked to met you.

The only gripes I had about Fan fest were:

1.  The players should have been on the other side of the field so they and us would have more shaded.

2.  It would have been nice to have some sort of concessions at the field.

One other sugestion would be to have things for the kids to do outside the stadium while everyone is waiting to get in.

Fan Fest was awesome! My hat goes off to all the USF staff, coaches, and players that make this happen!  According to gousfbulls.com there were over 2,000 fans that attended.  I got most of the players to sign my 3 by 5 USF flag that is now proudly hanging as the center piece on my living room wall.  I enjoyed talking with the players and coaches.  They all were happy two a days are over.  Mike Ford was very personable and exciting to talk as he signed my USF flag "Built Ford Tough".  Got a chance to talk to coach Canales about the receivers.  He said very impressed with the group of receivers the team he nicknamed Taurus Johnson Dynamite.  He also said he was impressed with Amarri Jackson's focus and work ethic this fall and that he has been very impressed with freshman Dontavia Bogan.
