Hardrick not coming to USF

Former Florida State OT Matt Hardrick will not be the most highly touted recruit to play at the University of South Florida after all.

Hardrick, who said he would transfer to USF Sunday after receiving a scholarship offer last week, received a call from USF coach Jim Leavitt Friday morning indicating there was a problem getting Hardrick into USF, said Tim Norling, a close friend and advisor of Hardrick’s.

A Parade All-American and rated the nation’s No. 5 lineman out of Orlando Edgewater, Hardrick (6-5, 329) will now attend either Division I-AA Alabama State, Illinois State or Southern Illinois.

Leavitt offered to place Hardrick at Pearl River (Miss.) Community College with an opportunity to return to USF in 2008, but Hardrick was not interested, Norling said. Hardrick could not be reached for comment.

With Hardrick’s transfer to USF now dead, Hardrick becomes the second Parade All-American that said he would transfer to USF, but never played a down for the Bulls. The other, ironically, was also a former Seminole – WR DiShon Platt, who transferred to USF in 2002, but left the program soon after.

Well, that's not good news. I wonder what the problem was?

Check out that last sentence.  Anybody remember Dishon Platt?  I thought he would be the best receiver in USF history.  Boy was I wrong.

Went to school with him at Charlotte High, was really excited when he came here, he thought it would be like HS where he was a God and didnt have to do anything. Tried that here and found out he actually had to go to class, apparently thats not what he wanted...A waste of talent....

OT still is a major target in recruiting, suprised we didn't land any JuCo. This could still be a route for 2008.

Go BULLS !!!

JoeB -- "Anymore" is a bit of a misnomer... "Never was" is more accurate...

Or perhaps "OT Hadrick not going to be a Bull Anymore"...  ;D  ;)  ;D  :P

Why would he go to I-AA and not South Carolina?  I'm sure Spurrier could make it happen.
