USF Will End Preseason With UCF

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of South Florida women’s soccer team will end the 2007 preseason Saturday, Aug. 25 when the Bulls play UCF at 7 p.m. in Orlando. Admission to the game at the UCF Soccer Stadium is free.

In regular season action, the Bulls are 1-3-0 against the Knights, with USF’s only victory coming in 1998, a 4-0 win. 

The Bulls are 1-0-1 in exhibition games so far this year, including a 1-0 victory over Tampa Aug. 18 and a 1-1 tie with Northern Illinois in Orlando on Aug. 21. 

Sophomore midfielder Kaneile Thomas leads the team with three points in preseason, followed by two from junior forward Lindsay Brauer, who scored the Bull’s first goal of the exhibition season. 

UCF comes into Saturday’s game after a 1-1 tie with NIU earlier in the week. Junior Danielle Dos Santos scored the Knights lone goal in the first of two exhibition matches for UCF. 

USF’s regular season opener is a week away, when the Bulls face the Stetson Hatters at 4 p.m. in DeLand. Admission to the Stetson Soccer Complex is $5 for adults and $4 for seniors and students.

USF’s home opener is September 28 when the Bulls face off against the preseason No. 10 Connecticut Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for that game are $5 for adults, $3 for youth 16-and-under and $2 for groups of 10 or more and are available on www.GoUSFBulls.com or by calling 1-800-GoBulls.  Season tickets are also available.
