Just some random thoughts on the WVU replay:

-  Josh Julmiste played a hell of a game.  He made some big plays, mainly on 3rd down.  He will be missed.

-  Ben Williams did a great job picking up blitzes.  On one instance, he crushed a WVU defensive player like an accordian.

-  Grothe really spread the ball around nicely in this game.  He really threw the ball with purpose, with the exception of the 2nd pick.

-  Slaton was punished every time he touched the ball.

-  The plays that Myles (WR) made, Mike Jenkins really had good coverage on them.  White just made perfect throws.  On his second TD, Williams got burnt.

-  The entire Defense played a sound game, without the dumb penalties we're used to seeing.

-  Refs blew some calls, but with the replay rule in effect corrected them which benefited the Bulls every time.  These were the right calls.

-  WVU crowd wasn't really into the game until the 4th Quarter.

-  Bill Curry made some good calls early, saying WVU was flat, and that USF's D Line was outplaying and outhustling the WVU offense.

This was only the 2nd time I've watched the game, and I forgot a few things.  I forgot about MG's first pick, but our D saved his bacon.  After WVU moved the ball pretty well, our D got tough inside the 15 each time.  The Mountaineers really made some mistakes to keep us in it.  In fact they would have scored a TD, but there was a holding penalty that pretty much killed that drive.  Also, they went for 2 way too early in the game.  There was like 9 minutes left in the 3rd quarter when they attempted it.

The fourth quarter looked scary for us. Almost thought we were going to lose until I remember it was a replay. :D

That game could have certainly gone either way. I can't wait for this season to start back up. What upsets will we pull off this year?

Teachey was out of sight - that 60+ yarder (with the 10 yrd bounce)

C. Robinson was a great fill in and all round play at LB

George Selvie was amazing - just as was Julmiste.

Buie gained experience

Leavitt was the best though.  His heartfelt moment at the end was astonishing - maybe I'll post that for tonite.

watching that game made me realize just how valuable S. Green was at WR.  he might not of made a lot of catches but his blocking from the WR position was Hines Ward like.

i hope the WR screen still has the same results without him and randolph out there.

We won't see any drop off in terms of WR blocking, Carlton Mitchell is a beast out there in terms of blocking.

Very physical, I expect big things from him this year

yeah julmiste had an incredible game, i surely hope his shoes are filled adequately.  unfortunately, i think his love for maryjane slightly outweighed his love for football....and by slightly i mean by a wide margin.

Didn't seem like we pass too much to the tight-ends.

We really didn't use the Tight Ends much the last couple of years.  Last year it seemed whenever Bleakley touched the ball he was getting a tough first down.  He also had some great blocks last year.

My hope this year is that #9 can catch the ball consistently.  When he gets the ball in his hands he is awesome.  he just has alot of problems catching it.

J.Julmiste was big the entire game. He is going to be a huge loss for our defense this year. Buie has never played as good as J.Julmiste.

Biggest concern this year is our offensive tackle position. Walker and Dile are a little injury prone, and our depth is not there. Our only non-freshman backups, that have played tackle in a game, are Huners(injured no return date), and Carnes(unable to block without holding). We may have to rely on a true freshman at some point this year. I hope someone steps up.

Go Bulls!!

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
