Turns out that former Edgewater standout Matt Hardrick decided to head to [glow=red,2,300]Tampa over UCF[/glow], FAU and South Carolina (how about that Spurrier Nation?) because he had some friends there from high school and from Hargrave Prep.

He also had a previous relationship with Bulls' Coach Jim Leavitt from attending some high school camps. Heard he enjoyed his visit to UCF's new digs and O'Leary, but went with what was most familiar to him.

The kid may or may not have pushed the envelope in order to get out from under FSU.  It is irrelevant at this time.  He will be sitting out this year anyway, and will have plenty of time to prove himself as a student and athlete to the coaching staff.  It is a win-win situation, I bullieve.  If he doesn't work out, then he is gone and nothing is lost.  If he pans out, what a catch!!

I am pretty sure that the school must request the release to speak with a player who is transferring; UM was turned down on this request. Maybe you think him and his mom also requested the release to speak with O'Liar?

The statement he is considering UCF does not mean that UCF offered him.
