Just did a piece about the new AP Preseason Top 25, and they had a person email them.  Jim from Boston said, "South Florida will beat Auburn to get into the Top 25.  Afterwards, they will beat West Virginia and Louisville, and the sky is the limit.  Look out Rutgers".

Anybody know who this guy is?  Gotta be a board member.  He had everything correct except for Rutgers being in the middle of the season, but it was funny to hear a guy in Boston emailing ESPN about the USF Bulls.  One of the hosts shrugged it off, but the other guy said something like "it could happen".

Channel 150.  I'm sure it will run again later today.  They tend to recycle these pieces throughout the day, especially before all of the real games are played.

all these mentioned on the national media outlets are nothing but good for the Bulls.

More love from ESPN.  This time from Joe Schad.  He called USF the Most Underrated Team in College Football.  This I'm sure will get played again.  Doubtful the guy's email from Boston gets aired again, but considering Joe Schad is one of their normal college football guests, I'm betting this gets re-aired at some point today.

Also said we could be the 2nd best team in the state.  Great press.

I am very pleased to see USF finally getting some really excellent press at the national level.  As fans, we've been waiting for this to occur for years.  I only hope that USF backs it up this year.  Journalists hate being proven wrong, so if USF doesn't come through this year, it will be a few years before we recover the opportunity.

MikeB, I agree.  I hope CJL is keeping these guys grounded.  It does seem like our name is out there alot with all of these preseason shows and polls.  Its great hearing the USF name, but we gotta win games to build on it.

Joe Schad just did a piece on the AP Poll and did a short set on USF saying we were the biggest omission from the Top 25.  Also said "Just 11 years after trailers, USF is now a legitimate Top 25 team and Rutgers is overrated."  Wish the national love would have waited until we "snuck up" on Auburn.  Auburn is not getting snuck up on now...too much hype.  So, when we beat them they will have no excuses.

I agree that Rutgers is overrated. Yes, they had a good season. Still, a majority of their fans believe they will be going 13-0 and winning the NC. I don't think they realize they only beat us by 2 last year. We'll be out for revenge this year.

No doubt in my mind that we are easily as good as Rutgers.  They are good, but they lost a lot.  You don't lose a guy like Leonard and his impact both on and off the field without a slight dropoff.  It's enough to let us pass them this year, I believe.  They also lost one of their (if not their top) receiver with a broken hand.

We'll be them.  probably for 3rd this year in the BE.

Bottom line is we are just as good as them.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
