The Blog "College Sports Junkie" recently rated every band in the BCS:

USF was ranked last in the Big East, and among the lowest in the BCS, ahead of only Duke, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, and tied with Minnesota.

Then again, the rankings allow for a ton of bias, and he called us the "Heard of Thunder".  Just thought I'd post it and see what everyone thought.

Personally, I thought we were easily better than N.C. State, and I wasn't too impressed with Miami, either.

You can't really take that blog all too seriously in my opinion. If they made those rankings from watching a 48 second clip of the HOT then it's not too accurate.

Interesting concept, shoddy execution. I consider myself somewhat of a college band connoisseur and I wouldn't consider myself qualified to rank all of the college bands in the BCS conferences because I haven't seen enough of them live. I certainly wouldn't do it based on a YouTube clip.

Remember, too, when comparing the HOT: They are about to enter their 8th season, and as such, like our football team, can't touch the tradition of older programs. But that doesn't mean they're not dang good at what they do.

Dude.....

I was at the Louisville game last season, and their band SUCKS!

I mean.....they really, REALLY suck.

H.O.T. is three times the band they are.

HOT has drastically improved over the past 2 seasons.  They will continue to get better and better, hopefuly coming up with new tunes.

Please.....our Band rocks.  I've seen MANY college bands in my years and the HOT rivals MOST of them.  I'd allow some room between us and a couple Big 10 schools but other than that...we can take the field with anybody!
