My wifes best friend's (GATOR FAN BUT USF GRAD :) boyfriend is going to ask her friend to marry her. I told her looks like she is going to miss it.

Now she'll have to make it up for asking such a dumb question

Last year I was just a few months into my new mairrage to a Gator when she asked me to go to the UF vs. LSU game which was on the same day as the USF vs. UConn game.  Of course, I politely declined which sent her into a rant about how I couldn't compromise yada yada yada.... I chose not to remind her that she probably couldn't name 5 active UF players and that she couldn't pick Tim Tebow out of a line up (probably not the best phrase in light of recent events)...

Long story short, I established precedent that Bulls football trumps UF football in my little world.  She now knows to check the calendar in the fall before committing me to any event (i.e. regardless of whether the game is home or away).

EASY SOLUTION.... TELL HER TO GO TO THE UF GAME WITH HER FRIEND......YOU ON THE OTHER HAND FIND A NICE FRIEND AND BRING HER TO THE USF GAME... MY GUESS IS THE WEDDING WILL BE IN 1 YEAR AND ALSO ON A USF GAME DAY... SET THE PRECEDENT NOW BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!

That’s what I told her right after I told her to turn in all her USF gear. She has lost the privilege to wear GREEN AND GOLD until I feel she has earned the right to wear it again……………. Or I can have her work it off

And for the record, my wife's a UF grad but not one of THOSE kind. Only game she ever asked me to go was the Sugar Bowl way back when where Bettis ran roughshod over them. I was loving it. She has fully converted to the Bulls .... and I get huge satisfaction in ripping to shreds any UF alimni crap that comes in the mail.  8)
