Baseball Roster

Per Greg's blog, USF lost another player off of the roster from last year's team.  JC Suarez has decided to transfer.  This leaves 8 'everyday' players from last year's team that are still on the roster.  It could be less, this is just my count.

P-  Shawn Sanford

IF-  Addison Maruszak

      Dexter Butler

      Charles Cleveland

      Brandin Daniel

OF-  Joey Angelberger

      Mike Consolmagno

I believe there might be a few others still on the team, that either didn't play a significant amount of time or were being redshirted last year.  With all of the new incoming players via high school or transfers, Coach Prado might want to hand out name tags at the first team meeting.

I'll try to get an updated roster of all the players to track it a little better.

His new recruits are a pretty good looking bunch!  I have no doubts about these guys making a little post season noise.

They've been working together a lot this summer, so I wouldn't expect it to too tough of a transition.

On a side note, Charles is coming back and working as a pitcher and I've heard Addy has been playing well back at SS this summer. Don't underestimate Torcise, Stull, or Tillett, all three of which are very talented red-shirts last season, so they know the system.

On a futher side note, anyone interesting in going to walk-on tryouts this year for S&G's?

No more Josh Leroy? Did he get drafted?

I don't follow college baseball, is USF good? I guess i'll find out this year, i'll try to get to some games.

Josh isn't with the team anymore, though still at USF (as far as I know).

What happened? He went to a nearby high school and was a really good catcher. As far as I knew he was doing well at USF also but I wasn't exactly following his career because they never show college baseball on TV. I watched the Big East tournament final, and a few college baseball tournament games but that was it as far as my college baseball viewing went.

He was moved to the outfield with USF, not sure of the circumstances since I only played with him for one year.

We were one game away from making the Big East final, we actually got to watch it at the airport before we flew back.

You should make out to the games this spring, should be worth watching. Baseball attendance picked up at USF a ton last year, due to new coaching and a new atmosphere, so hopefully they can keep that going.

Josh was actually the opening day #2 hitter, and it went downhill after that.  Towards the end of the year, he basically was a bench player with an occassional start here and there.
