... About some new injury... should I not take these injury reports to seriously? Are these day to day injuries common with teams?

Injuries are common... serious ones less so... a tweak here, a sprain there... no worries.

a lot of time players are held out of practice as a precaution. I bet that all the minor injuries are ones that would play if necessary
