From "Tracking the Tigers":

It was obvious Sunday when night when junior center Jason Bosley suffered a knee injury just how much he means to Auburn's football team.

The practice field went virtually silent when Bosley didn't get up after a running play in 11-on-11 work. When he was finally helped to his feet, his teammates applauded. That's the first time in this preseason camp I've seen anything like that.

Bosley is valuable as one of the emotional leaders of the 2007 Tigers. He's also the only center who has ever played a snap in a game. It didn't look good when he was helped off the field and into a van that took him to the training room. But it's certainly possible that it won't turn out to be as bad as it looked.

Offensive line coach Hugh Nall said he did not know the severity of the injury.

"He had his braces on, so you have to believe the best," Nall said. "We won't know until they do whatever test they have to do and find out what damage there is, if any. We'll take whatever it is and go with it."

If Bosley is out, Nall is going to have some tough decisions to make.

Ryan Pugh has been perhaps the most impressive of the freshman offensive linemen, more impressive even than Lee Ziemba, who spent last week as the No. 1 right tackle. But it would be nerve-wracking at best to play a true freshman at center. Another option would be redshirt freshman Mike Berry, but he could be the starting right guard.

The best outcome, of course, would be for Bosley to not be badly hurt and to be back in time to be ready to play against Kansas State on Sept. 1. We'll know more Monday about where things are headed.

hopefully he'll heal just in time for the third game and they'll go undefeated afterwards, making us look awesome!

It looks to just be a hyperextended knee. X-rays are negative according to the AU board.

From someone who speaks from experience its the MRI you have to worry about not the x-rays when it comes to knees.

I agree with you.  I have had 3 myself.  But the report that they are claiming the statement above is from states he should be back in a couple of days.  If that is the case he is fine.  I guess we will see.

Looks like it was just a bruise...

The news that Bosley was not seriously injured was a relief for Tuberville and everyone else in the Auburn program. Bosley, a junior ... , is the only Auburn center who has played the position in a game.

But they only have one player with game experience at center.. hmmmm....

He'll need to worry about USF's Interior DL  ;D

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
