USF Ends Friday With A Spirited Practice

Tampa, Fla. – The University of South Florida football team ended Friday’s evening practice with a hard-hitting spirited workout. The session was the team’s final scheduled evening practice from 8-10 p.m.

“We have a lot of work to do, a lot of work to do in a lot of areas. It’s really early,” said USF head coach Jim Leavitt. “We’re climbing a big mountain. Are we ready to play, no, we have a lot of work to do, but we’ll get there somehow.”

The team closed out the night spending quite a bit of time on goal-line situations with the offense scoring a touchdown on four straight plays.

Chris Robinson and Walter Walker both sat out practice after suffering left ankle injuries yesterday, however Zach Herman returned after a bout with the flu.

“They (Robinson and Walker) will be out for a number of days,” said Leavitt. “They both have pretty good sprains. We’ll go day-to-day with them.”

USF will return to the gridiron for the start of two-a-days tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and then again from 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Doesn't seem to serious.  They should be OK.

Those ankle sprains are a killer...

If they try and push it too early, it will bother them for the rest of the season and we dont need that.
