the one thing I really noticed while hearing Matt Grothe being interviewed several times is just how down to earth and humble he is--- and he has every right to be a cocky guy after last season. But he's not-- he almost seems a little overwhelmed by how much attention he gets from the media and from what happened last year.

But on game day-- he transforms into a real competitor

The day I realized Grothe was such a humble guy, was last baseball season when he would come out to at least 1 baseball game a week. He really loves this university and likes to support the other athletes. He is not cocky in the least bit.
